    Characterization and evaluation observation area. Examples include molecular data, allozymes, SNPs, SSRs and phenotypic observations, plant height, flowering time, oil content, fruit locule number. Also included is the data describing the observations such as codes, descriptor names, groupings, and definitions.

    References in the literature occur in multiple conceptual areas in a genetic resources database. Crop Science Registration papers are referenced in the Intellectual Property area. Method’s papers are referenced in the study (evaluation) area for details on how data was obtained. An ethnobotanical paper may describe in detail how an accession or accession group is utilized by certain ethnic group. How should citations be handled in GRIN Global?

  • Data movement between programs
    Germplasm data managers are often presented with data captured on mobile devices or entered into spreadsheet or database programs. Alternatively, data is often requested to be presented in spreadsheet or database format. How should GRIN Global handle the task of data movement between programs? Will it handle lists of accessions (Show me a report on this random list of PI numbers!)
